Welcome to my about page & thanks for taking a peek! I’m Andrea, a Photographer in San Diego, CA offering Portrait Sessions including Family, Engagement, Maternity, Newborn, High School Senior, Head shots & Personal Branding.
In 2012 my husband and I moved from snowy Colorado to sunny San Diego with our spoiled yellow lab in tow and we’ve been loving the SoCal lifestyle ever since! My interest in photography developed from documenting our travels around the world scuba diving. Years later I expanded from photographing landscapes & fish to humans.
Some of my favorite things: All the dark chocolate, Moscow mules, the ocean & its amazing creatures (fun fact I have scuba dived intimately with Bull & Tiger Sharks, Blue Ring Octopus and banded sea Kraits and did I mention I HATE snakes), loved traveling all over Italy and can’t wait to return someday, appreciate a good sunset, curling up with a book, desperately miss Colorado green chili and last but not least my husband & scuba buddy for life.
I feel truly honored to have the opportunity to capture important moments in my clients lives because life is short and we should all exist in photos. What may seem like just a photo today may become a cherished memory to you or your loved ones tomorrow!

About the Session
Location
Andrea Quick Photography is a San Diego portrait photographer based in North County, serving the greater San Diego, CA area. Contact me to inquire about availability and additional travel fees that may apply for locations more than 25 miles from my home base. I offer both indoor sessions at my home studio and on location shoots of your choosing. We’re fortunate in southern California to have a wealth of amazing locations to utilize with numerous beaches, parks, diverse cityscape and mountains all at our fingertips. Choosing which location comes down to what type of feel you want for your images. I’m happy to provide suggestions and examples if inspiration is needed.
When should I contact you to book a session or event?
Please contact me to check my current availability. Maternity session scheduling is recommended for around 4-6 weeks prior to your due date. Newborn photo session scheduling is recommended for 7-10 days after your baby arrives when they are at their sleepiest.
What should I wear?
Wear something you will be comfortable in and stay true to your personal style! Wear your favorite colors, ones you look your best in. For couples or families, don’t try to match too much. A good place to start with is one of you wearing a pattern or print and the other wearing something solid in colors that complement each other. Lace, textures and pops of color are great to add interest and contrast to your photos. I discourage clothing that has letters, words or logos on it as it’s distracting in photos. I highly encourage accessories that you can mix in such as scarves, belts, bold necklaces, jackets, cardigans etc… If you need further inspiration I have examples to share with you on my Pinterest page.
Should I bring anything?
It’s not necessary to bring anything unless you have something special or fun that you want to use. I have an ever growing list of props available for use during newborn sessions. Let me know in advance if there’s an item you want to bring and we can try to incorporate it into some of your photos!
When is the best time of day for my session?
The last couple of hours before sunset, referred to as the “golden hour” by photographers, is by far the ideal time for a photo session. The sun is less harsh during this time of day allowing the camera to catch vivid colors with stunning warm rays of light from the setting sun. That being said, I’m flexible to your schedule/availability.
When can I expect to receive my images?
My current turnaround time is approximately 2 weeks for edited portrait sessions. Weddings have a 6 week turnaround time.
How do I view my images?
Once I’ve finished editing your images you’ll receive an email from me with a link and password to view your images in a password protected online gallery.
How many images will I receive?
This depends on the package and type of photo session you book. I will go through your images and hand select the best images for editing.
Can I have the RAW unedited files?
After viewing my work you have hired me for my photographic style in addition to my editing style therefore unedited images will not be provided to clients.
Do you provide edited digital files?
Yes, depending on the package you purchase.
Cancellations or refunds
There are no refunds for cancellations due to the client not showing up.
In the event of inclement weather another date will be worked out between the client and photographer as a makeup session. If you have a child that is sick, please reschedule the session. Nothing ruins your session faster like red noses and tired kids!
